We all have one… Are you listening?

It’s true, the inner voice inside of you is real, you aren’t crazy. It’s worth observing; what is it saying to you? Is it your voice of reason when you are contemplating a decision? Is it coming to you in the voice of your parents, your partner, a wise teacher you have had? It’s as if an inner part of you, a knowingness, is speaking to you, even guiding you; beseeching you to follow the wisdom within you. The Inner Sage is a voice that comes to us with loving intent, wise beyond our comprehension, and to me can feel like a hug and a high five when I have an “aha moment” after after connecting in. Your Inner Sage is listening to everything you think, it knows you intimately.

Wisdom is gained, yes, and we store it away for future reference. Whether we are in a place of new experience or find ourselves on a hamster wheel of repetition with an ongoing issue, new thoughts and actions are often required and we can find ourselves in need of direction. This is a time for inner contemplation, to call on your Inner Sage, your wise voice within you.

If you are like me, we are the sort of people that need adequate information to know how to fit into certain situations and how we are to respond and operate in the world. When we have that information up front we are more confident in our stride forward having had some of that stress of unknowingness removed.

The biggest challenge in hearing your Inner Sage is quieting the rampant and never ending flow of mind chatter. Taking yourself to a space where you can be peaceful and quiet is imperative when learning to converse with this wise self within you. It doesn’t matter where that place is, as long as you can find a sense of peace there to go within and center yourself for a chat. For example, If I have something that is very pressing or stressful, I find it helps me to ground and center myself by having something to write on. I will write a question on the page and see what follows. Often I am inspired to keep writing and watch answers and wise thoughts appear in my own handwriting. Sometimes its as easy as a quiet conversation I have in my head with my Inner Sage. I love the quiet predawn hours with a good cup of coffee as much as at day’s end with a glass of wine for these conversations. Often my questions are answered with rhetorical questions from my Inner Sage – it likes to point out to me that I often already know the answer to what I am seeking.

Its really not complicated or difficult and once you establish this chat line, you will have a link to what I consider to be my strongest ally in moving forward with confidence in my life. I invite you to strike up a conversation with your own wise Inner Sage.

Namaste; The Divine in Me bows to the Divine in You.

Be Well,

Amy
